Shared family reminders: nobody misses the appointment

The dentist, the school meeting, grandma's birthday. When only one person's phone knows the date, only one person carries the whole family's memory. Fix that — without signing anyone up for anything.

Quick answer: with Anotea (Android) you link the family's phones by scanning a QR code — no account. A reminder marked as family rings on every linked phone with Done and Snooze, you can create it by voice or by forwarding a message, and everything shared travels encrypted end to end.

The problem: one person remembers everything, the other nothing

In most households, one person is the calendar. They remember the appointments, the deadlines, the birthdays — and they carry the load of reminding everyone else. A shared reminder flips that: the date rings on every phone, so remembering stops being one person's job.

How to share reminders, step by step

  1. Install Anotea (free) on the family's phones — up to 3.
  2. On the first phone, go to Settings → Family and tap Add member.
  3. The other phone shows a QR code: scan it and you're linked. No emails, no passwords, nobody registered on any platform.
  4. Create the first reminder and mark it as family — it will alert on every phone.

Three ways to create the reminder

1. By voice, without typing

Hold the mic and say it: "blood test on the 14th at 9". The AI extracts the date and time and creates the reminder. Speech for a short note is recognized on the phone — that audio isn't uploaded.

2. By forwarding a message (or a voice note)

The date arrives by text — from school, a doctor's office, a group chat. Share it to Anotea and the AI finds the date and creates the reminder, whether it's a text or a voice note.

3. By typing, like always

The regular editor is there too: title, date, time, personal or family.

Birthdays, bills, and dates that repeat

Recurring reminders (monthly, yearly…) are created once and come back on their own — birthdays, rent, the water bill. And the advance heads-up ("due in 2 days") means nobody finds out about the appointment the same morning.

Privacy: encrypted end to end

Shared reminders are encrypted on the phone before they're sent, with a key only your linked devices hold — the server relays them without reading them. And reminders you mark personal are never synced — they stay on your phone. Since there's no account, there's no profile of your family in any database.

Frequently asked questions

How do I share reminders without creating accounts?

Link the phones by scanning a QR code in Anotea. A family reminder then rings on every linked phone with Done and Snooze.

Does it actually ring on the other phones?

Yes — each family reminder fires its own local alarm on every linked phone. It's not just a list you have to remember to check.

Can I create the reminder by voice?

Yes. Say it and the AI extracts the date. You can also forward a text or voice message.

Can I keep some reminders personal?

Yes. Personal reminders stay on your phone and never sync; family ones alert everyone.

Are shared reminders private?

Yes — encrypted before they leave the phone, with a key only your devices know.
